Hi all, I have been dairy free for 2weeks now and have noticed my DD will still have the occasional bloody diaper (black specs) is the dairy still making its way out of both our symptoms or could this be something else? She hasn't been tested for any allergens however, the pedi recommended I cut out dairy due to her having the bloody stool a few weeks ago. TIA.

It can take a good month for the dairy proteins to clear your systems. A lot of milk protein intolerant babies are also soy protein intolerant (MSPI). DD2 is MSPI. Her symptoms cleared up within 5 weeks of me eliminating dairy and soy from my diet. We have a check in on the breastfeeding board on Mondays for MSPI moms. You can read all our past posts at mspimoms.blogspot.com. The site mspimama.com also has great recipes.
An allergy test usually comes out negative for MSPI babies, as it's usually an intolerance and not a true allergy. DD2 had allergy testing, but tested negative for a dairy/soy allergy. But we know she is *intolerant* to those foods because of her symptoms and the fact they cleared up when I eliminated them from my diet. DD1 has true allergies to dairy, soy, and eggs. Her body creates an immune response to those foods.
