I feel like my meal sizes are smaller than they have been, but I probably starting eating smaller meals about 3 months before getting pregnant. I am up up between 7-12 lbs depending in what I count my pp weight as. I am eating when Hungary- every 2 hours or so.
Today I ate Egg on English muffin with cheese, bag of mini muffin brownies, about a serving and a half of chicken ( based on my hand size). 3/4 avocado, scoop of chocolate ice cream and now I am ready for another eggs sandwich.
Sound about right? I know I need more veggies. I more worry when I only eat half a burger for dinner. DDoesn't seem like enough for a pg lady!
I was about 147 last October. Lost about ten lbs and started preg. at about 139
Re: Are you eating a lot/ a little ?
I think it sounds fine. I eat a lot more during the day but like you said, smaller meals more frequently.
Have you tried smoothie drinks for your veggie intake? My girlfriends swear by this stuff called the green machine by naked juice. It's supposed to be a full day serving of all your green veggies. A good alternative to people who don't like veggies.
I'm eating more often, but less at each meal. I'm up about 5 pounds and that all came on in the last week...my doc called it a growth spurt! Not sure that I believe her, but it isn't a big cause for concern.
I definitely have been focusing on more veggies simply because it helps me not to feel hungry as soon - I hate that hunger feeling!
We went to dinner last week and I could only eat 1/2 my burger too. Maybe had 4 of the French fries. But like an hour later? I wanted popcorn at the movies!
this. Mostly though, I eat a little at a time but I eat all day.. So it adds up to about the same or more as normal. My appetite seems to go away by dinner time though.
I was going to say just this! Before I was eating more junk foods and empty carbs. For the past month, I have been making salads for lunch and trying to eat a serving of fruit and vegetables each. Though I am still not to the daily recommendation, that small change has me feeling more satisfied and not snacking nearly as much. I also got a few varieties of the 100 calorie snacks so I had the portion control while still feeding my cheez-it cravings!
That said, there is a certain point in the morning (around 9 and 10 am) that I feel ravenous.
For me it depends on the day, but mostly I don't feel like I'm eating very much. I hear it's only an extra 300 calories a day that I need, and that's like a cup of skim milk and a couple of almonds. I don't keep track of what I eat, but I do weigh myself weekly to make sure I'm not doing anything too crazy! At 23 weeks I'm up 7 lbs, at a healthy weight to start and feeling pretty good.
