Father's Day

Are any of you ladies doing anything for your DH for Father's Day? He took me to dinner and a movie for Mother's Day and has been incredible through this whole pregnancy process. I've had morning sickness the ENTIRE time, and he has taken care of me and was extremely supportive when we discussed me being a SAHM. He is also awesome about sharing the housework load. Tomorrow is our 10month anniversary, and while we haven't been celebrating monthly, it will be our last one with just the two of us. I know he has been stressed, and I want to do something special to show him how much I appreciate everything he has been doing and that he is going to be an amazing dad. I don't have a single creative bone in my body, so I was wondering if you girls would have any ideas.....



P.S. It might be TMI, but sex is off the table as it has been very painful and uncomfortable for me every time we've tried for the past couple of months... Another thing he has been incredibly patient about.

    DH and I went out on a date this past weekend to celebrate an early Father's Day, since baby is due the day before FD. He's not really into cards or gifts so a big dinner with lots of yummy lamb was perfect for him. I still would like to pick up a little "Daddy's girl" onesie or something, but I don't know if I have the energy to put in any effort right now.

    DH doesn't really know what (or when) Father's Day is, since he's not from a culture that has it (they do have International Women's Day as well as Children's Day though). And he's superstitious so he didn't want to celebrate Mother's Day at first, though we ended up sort of falling into it and going to a restaurant. But I wanted to give him a little present, especially because he's not big on material things and rarely wants anything concrete, and I thought of the perfect thing (an atlas that is more Asia-centric since he's from Asia and he said once that he wishes he had one like that--the only thing he ever seems to want is maps/atlases). I just need to find one now....Also, we "date" a lot on the weekends (walking around outside, sometimes going to inexpensive eating places) in order to get as much just-the-two-of-us time as possible, so it'll be pretty easy to drag him to a restaurant.

    Fingers crossed LO will be here but that day...but I got H a tshirt with Darth Vadet on it that says "#1 Dad" and the book "Darth Vader and Son." It fits his (our) sense of humor.

    I plan on taking dh to dinner since i have to work that day. but i also bought him a t-shirt that says D.A.D.D. DADS AGAINST DAUGHTERS DATING

    DH is super cute and hoping little one will be here by FD, DD and I bought DH is first official pair of coach's sunglasses since he starts coaching high school in July. We are having a barbque if LO isn't here yet. 

     

    I got him a hat from his hs he is coaching at that says coach Martinez, DD has a shirt that's says coach's daughter and LO has a onesie jersey that says lil Martinez and the number 1 1/2. Hopefully he loves it all. I've lost my creativeness since. Being preggers.

    We had LO on the 6th I ordered some things today and hope they get here in time I got DH a mug with a mustash that's says 1 day and LO a onsie. Also he has been wanting a bench or our front porch so I got that for him!

    We are getting induced that night so I think that's a pretty good gift! I did get DH a card a daddy and me book. He is going golfing and we will just try to enjoy our last evening if we aren't too anxious!!

    That's a great idea. I may go with something sports related since he coaches girls' soccer for a local club and has played all of his life.... He keeps sneaking soccer stuff into the nursery, and every time she kicks me he says, "I hope that's a sign she will love soccer!" Haha ... Another thought I had was to get matching Super Bowl Champs tshirts for him and LO since he is a Ravens fan. He was pretty excited that they won the championship the year she will be born.

    i got H the same thing and stashed it in the hospital bag. I hope to just make it a hospital surprise.

    Mine may seem silly, but my husband has been wanting a grill really bad lately. He talks about it every time we go to Target and pass the outdoor area. So while it might not be sentimental, it's something he wants. So I bought him a grill and grill tools. His bday is July 5th, so I told him its kind of for both bc by the time his bday gets here I won't be getting a check from work cause my PTO will have run out. I am also going to try to find a good pic of him and LO and put it in a frame. 

    I think it's great, actually.  My H's birthday is July 7th so I'm kind of in the same position. 

    His phone is on the fritz, so I'm thinking of getting him a new cell phone. It's a little spendy but he really needs one....
