My daughter is almost nine months old and all of a sudden she refuses to eat anything pureed. I started making her baby food when she was six months old and has done a really good job at eating it. As of last week she puts up a fight and now flat out refuses to open her mouth for purees. She squeezes her eyes closed and puckers her lips like she ate something sour but she does that as soon as I bring the spoon to her mouth. She will eat all the puffs and cut up pieces of our food that I give her but nothing pureed.
I feel like she's not eating enough because most of the pieces I give her end up stuck in her highchair or on the floor. I still nurse her between meals and at night but she's so distracted when I feed her and just wants to be on the move. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just stop trying to give her purees and stick to little pieces of our food?
Re: Refusing purees now
Mine went on a pur?e boycott too. I've been giving her small pieces of table food. She's getting better with her accuracy of actually getting the food in her mouth. Since I had a lot of puree baby food left, I started freezing it into Popsicle molds and she eats it that way. And she thinks the Popsicle is fun too!
I tried giving him banana strips last night but he just mushed them around his tray.
