::::::May Emeralds Check In::::::

Welp, I just returned home from a night away and our Internet modem AND wireless router are both completely fried from an apparent power surge. I think we might have lost some more stuff too, even with a surge protector!! Womp, womp. So I can't post the check in today :/

I would still love to hear what you ladies are up to, I know we have some BFPs to report! So how about an unofficial update today!?!?

Re: ::::::May Emeralds Check In::::::

  • Fresh off our bfn, DH and I decided to get away for a couple days for some fun and to try to take our minds off things. We went to a local winery and had a wonderful tasting, 11 different wines, and tour of the vineyard. Neither one of us had ever been to a winery so it was really cool. I'm a huge wine drinker, DH not so much, but we both had a lot of fun. We followed that up with Busch Gardens Williamsburg yesterday evening and today. It was a little hot and muggy, but no lines today and we made it around the park by lunch time and headed home.

    As for the bfn, I'm still just sad. Given our track record with the quality of our embies for FET, and our inability and agreement not to do another fresh cycle, we are not terribly hopeful for a take home baby. The conversation has turned from :When we have kids: to :since we won't have kids: I guess we will just have to wait and see.

    QOTD: Love listening to thunder!! But one of my dogs hates them, he whines and cries the entire time!! Poor thing!!!

    oh twists, i'm still so very sorry... i'm glad you were able to get away for a little bit and just enjoy some down time.  hugs to all those who need them and congrats to the bfp's.

    as for me, i'm still holding on (hopefully).  i'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and have my ultrasound thursday. still not really many symptoms, just peeing 2-3 times per night.  i'm so, so afraid that there's going to be nothing there.  i haven't taken an hpt in a few days because i really don't think i want to know.  DH will go with me for the u/s so i just hope it turns out to be a happy day for both of us.  it's so close now and i just can't even control my anxiety over waiting for it any longer.  if all goes well we are planning on sharing with our parents on father's day.  our siblings already know.

    qotd: i really like thunderstorms as long as i am home on the couch with a blanket and not driving through them or running to my car!

    Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!);
    Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.
    Clomid + Trigger x2;

    IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life.
    Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

  • Unofficial check in: I had my beta yesterday. It came back at 181. We're both really pleased with this and I have another draw tomorrow.

    I am a POASer and when I POAS last Tuesday (4dp5dt) it was positive and has been getting darker every day.

    Given our history and the challenges we've had we're quite guarded, but joyful for our strong 1st beta and hopeful that this bean might be our real take home baby.

    QOTD: yes! I love thunderstorms.

    We are so in love with her.

    "I'm not telling you it's going to be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it."

    Everybody is welcome!!!
  • Twists, I'm very sorry. I hope you get to move on to the next step soon and that you continue to enjoy life in between. I have been struggling with how much of me I've given to this journey, too much that I often overlook the great things currently in my life. I miss being me.

    We did get our bfp today, beta of 132. Very happy, just hoping and praying it progresses. I posted earlier about my poas nightmare. Basically I tested way too often and when the line wasn't as dark as I hoped, I fell apart.  Yes, I'm losing it.

    Beta number 2 is on Wednesday.

    Hoping and praying for all of us Emeralds.

    Qotd: love them, our dog hates them, he trembles and snuggles up to us.

    Jez: GL on Thursday!!
    Bzeety and amb: Congrats on your BFPs!!

    I'm pretty sure you guys may have seen my separate post with what's going on with me. Just to recap quickly, got a very faint positive at 5dp5dt and 6dp5dt and then negative results yesterday and today at 7 and 8dp5dt. When I got the faint positive I was 12 days from the trigger date. So not sure whether I am having a chemical pregnancy or if it was the trigger leaving my system and its still too early for me to get a positive test result. Maybe I'm producing Hcg slowly, I hope! I tried asking if anyone had any experience with this but it doesn't seem like anyone did. So I'm in limbo until tomorrow for my beta results. I'm freaking out thinking this cycle is a bust and its so depressing.

  • ****BFP Warning****

    Hi Emeralds!!

    This is a re-post from PAIF. Feeling better about it; just need to cool my jets until formal u/s 6/28. Just so nervous after c/p in Feb. Congrats to everyone with BFPs; hugs to everyone who needs them. Good luck to anyone waiting!! Liz

    QOTD: LOVE them!!!

    I'm 5 weeks and 6 days today after a 5 day transfer of 2 blasts on 5/19. My office did 3 betas:

    5/30 11dp5dt  319

    6/01 13dp5dt  615   Doubling time 50 hours

    6/03 15dp5dt  1300 Doubling time 44 hours

    Office was very happy with this and stopped; scheduled 1st u/s 6/28

    The thought of waiting until then was torture and I'm an RN on L and D so I sent my own betas through my OB-GYN and not my RE:

    6/05 17dp5dt  2975  Doubling time 40 hours

    Had very, very light pink discharge last Thursday night (on PIO not Crinone), and have not any since. I probably wouldn't even have known it was there but I'm so obsessive about "checking" sometimes.....

    So I did 1 more beta:

    6/08 20dp5dt 6061  Doubling time 70 hours..... ugh

    My graph looked great on babymed.com: my line was right in the middle of average and max.

    I know they slow after a certain point, but I'm worried. One of the MDs I work with did an abdominal ultrasound and a nice gestational sac was visible on Sat at 5 plus 4 days!!!! Needless to say I was very relieved!

    Is it normal for them to slow that dramatically- 40 to 70 hours?

    I feel nutty!!

    Thanks for any input!!

    Liz

  • Hey ladies - I'm thinkin gof all of you. Hugs to each of you who needs it - and congrats to those of you who have had positive betas. This whole journey has really been a tough one, so thanks for sticking with me through it all, and I promise that I'm always rooting for each of you!

    Our big news of the week is that our probe is done! We should know how many healthy embryos we have by the end of this week or early next week. I'm so happy to find out our results, no matter what...we have some backup plans and ideas of where we will go from here no matter what the results are. For now, I'm praying for a few healthy ones and then we'll go for a July FET!

    And congrats on all the BFPs!

    I spent the weekend wallowing in pity from my BFN.  I literally laid in my pool, drank beer, and stared at the clouds!  AF came on Sunday, so already on estrace for FET#2.

    Best of luck to all of those still in the running, Emeralds!

    I posted a separate update yesterday after monitoring, but will paste it here:

      I didn't realize I was scheduled for an U/S along with beta #3 this morning.  So, what a relief to see a yolk and sack after worrying all night about my previous low betas!  RE says I'm a little over 5 weeks along and it looked good, so I guess I'll go venture over to PAIF.  I hope to see you gals there soon!

     Update: beta jumped up to over 2,000! Woohoo!

    Next U/S #2 to hopefully see h/b will be on the 20th.

    QOTD: I am not particularly fond of thunderstorms.  I don't like the sudden loud noises, but I do like that they clear the air of allergens!

  • Hi, ladies. Beta is tomorrow, but I'm not very hopeful- I'm 10dp3dt and hpt was BFN today. :(  I feel like crud and am just ready for this part to be over definitively so I can move on. I started looking up 5k's around the area. I'm not a runner by any definition, but I used to run here and there, and I mostly gave it up this past year with our IUIs and now this IVF. It's something I'd like to get back into. I think we will do another IVF when we can afford it, I just don't know when that will be.

    I like thunderstorms, but since we've had some roof problems, I'm always stressed out that we're going to get a leak!

    Hi, ladies.

    Don't give up hope yet!  HPTs before beta are a bad idea, as I learned the hard way.  Mine was BFN the morning of beta, but I had a very faint BFP at beta.  You never know, you may also have a late implanter.  Wait for RE's results before getting upset.  GL tomorrow!

  • Twists, I am so sorry for your heartbreak. Hugs to you and anyone else who needs them.

     I am still waiting for my ultrasound on the 17th. I'm really nervous and excited at the same time. I don't have any major symptoms yet, I'm more tired than usual but that's about it. It still doesn't feel real yet, I'm actually hoping for symptoms soon so I can actually believe we were successful!

     QOTW: I love thunderstorms!

    TTC since June, 2011 with anovulatory PCOS, 1 blocked tube, and mild MFI
    3rd cycles clomid + Ovidrel = BFN
    4th cycles letrozole/Ovidrel + IUI = BFN
    IVF #1 = BFP! Twins due 2/5/2014

  • Hey!

     We had our WTF meeting yesterday and were there for over an hour. We discussed a lot of ideas and our next cycle we will freeze and do PGD.  I'm still confused about it, it was all very overwhelming. But, forward we go!  I'm prepping now and will doing IVF #2 in July. We are also looking to see about acupuncture.

    QOTD: Hate them!

  • I'm late herestupid work kept me off the board!

    It looks like this cycle was a no go. I had a really low beta 22 on Monday and started my period. So IVF was a chemical pregnancy. I'm waiting for results from my beta 2 from this morning to make it official so we can move on.

    I used to like thunderstorms, especially overnight ones but now my dog freaks out and I just feel bad for him!
