We didn't do this for #1. Music might annoy you while you are in labor, just FYI.
The other births I've attended had spa music or classical playing in the background. The moms I have helped through their birth were annoyed with lyrics or overly chaotic music. Another preferred nature sounds (babbling brook, ocean or rain) to music.
That Titanium song that was popular a while back always seemed like it would be a good one! Very empowering! I'm interested to see what others come up with!

I thought about this for like 2 seconds before i realized that it would prob annoy the hell out of me.
I'm just going to have pandora playing whatever station I feel like hearing, Mumford and sons, Miranda lambert and the pistol Annie's, Gary Allan, six church...anything that trips my trigger lol! I know I'll want music I hate silence!

I realize I may not end up using it. But I'd rather have the option if it's there than regret not having it. I really just want song suggestions. Thanks!

I am thinking this. It seems like anything lyrical might just be annoying. Especially if you are playing Pandora and a bad song comes on.
My little guy LOVES Fun. And The Lumineers. Anytime they play, he gets riled up...so I thought about put their music on my iPod, but I think it's going to make me crazy.
I'm not sure what I'd like either. I think I'll make a few playlists and see how I feel, maybe switch it up some. Some Jim Brickman piano, some Hayley Westenra classical, and then some upbeat more pop songs on Pandora.
I had a ton of Explosions in the Sky, Coldplay, and the Beatles on mine. I remember some Simon and Garfunkle as well. DH put the playlist together, and the thought behind some of those songs was very positive during some emotional times at the hospital. I had the music on very low in the background and loved having it. I always turned it on at night as well to drown out the "hospital" noises.
I don't have a birth playlist. However I have every intention of playing "We are the Champions" very shortly after the birth. MH thinks I am crazy, but I think its an appropriate time to play it.

I want to have my Pandora playing with Jim Brickman, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, and John Mayer.
We'll see if I keep it on.
