How do you keep your kid from standing up in the bathtub? I feel like I constantly have to say "we don't stand in the bathtub" and sit O back down. He just laughs and stands back up. It makes me so freaking nervous.

Re: Standing in the bathtub
SCANDAL!
Sorry no advice obviously but I empathize.

I'm going to try this!
He stood up the other day and I turned to grab his towel from beside me and turned back just in time for him to flip out into my lap. Scared the ever loving crap out of me. I have to tell him a billion times to sit and even though I'm literally siting right in front of him, it only takes a split second for an accident to happen. Bathtubs scare me!!
Make sure you follow through EVEN IF he's not clean! I do the washing part of the bath as soon as I plop DD in the tub so if I have to pull her out, she's at least clean. Once, though, she didn't get a whole bath.
I'd love a magic cure for this, too. My guess is that I'll just have to wait until N outgrows this phase. For now, I just sit her back down and tell her "We sit in our bathtub."
The counselor in me has to state everything positive, lol. I always tell her what I want her to do instead of what I DON'T want her to do.
I did something similar to this. The past few nights we haven't had any standing in the tub. Before that, I had to ask him to sit down once or it was the end of bath time and he sat back down.
Yes! Follow through! I had a couple of nights of speed washing so he would be clean cuz I knew he only had the patience of about 3 minutes before he wanted to stand.
I'm going to have to try this! Bath time used to be so fun, now he is constantly trying to climb out!
Baby #2!
A does this all the time. I just sit him back down and say "it isn't safe to stand in the tub". We do that about 50 times a bath.
Bathtime is one of the few times a day A is content, so I don't want to cut that off. I figure he will eventually associate the standing with being put back down into a sitting position and will give up.

I always wash him as soon as he gets in the tub, then let him play. That way he never misses getting washed if he decides to stand up early in the bath.
