My eye wont stop twitching- WTF

My eye has been twitching all fing day. It's never done this before.

DH keeps laughing at me because I'm seriously freaking out about it, and Dr. Google is scaring me.

Is it normal for your eye to decide to twitch all day?  This doesn't feel like it should be normal.

Edit: Also I've begun sleeping with an eye mask. Could that be the cause?

  • This is one of the few signs I get when I am stressed. I remember I first noticed this before my wedding, the constant eye twitch. Try some distressing techniques and see if it helps.

  • Try eating a banana at least every other day. I was having this problem a few weeks ago and it seemed to help.

  • I've had eye twitches that last months. Mine are from stress or lack of sleep.

  • Potassium and magnesium!  Eye twitches can be stress, but the can also be indicators of potassium and magnesium deficiencies. Doyou take a cal/mag supplement?

  • My eye was twitching a while back because of a bad sinus infection. I didn't feel sick or have a runny nose, but my doc said my sinuses were all inflamed. If none of the above suggestions help, you could look into that as a possibility.

  • You aren't alone, mine twitched all day today. I have had a banana in a few days. Wonder if there's really any correlation. Makes sense.

The banana thing makes sense for me too, I've eaten a banana every morning since I've gotten pregnant. But now there is a terrible banana shortage in my area so I haven't had one in a week. I miss them and will never take my bananas for granted again.

And also I spent the day at my IL's so I'm sure that was also a factor. They are very stressful people.

Thanks to everyone for responses. It seems like it's gone now (fingers crossed) after some sex, and watching bad reality tv. :)

  • I jinxed it, it's back.

A banana shortage? That makes me sad, lol.

  • I'm in the same boat. Though for me it is lack of sleep for sure which leads to stress. Had to call out again because I've had a grand total of ten hours of sleep including naps since Thursday. My two hour each way commute sounds extra dangerous right now.

  • A few weeks ago I had eye twitches all day, and severe leg cramps/Charlie horses at night. I never had either before and was really concerned. I realized that I had run out of my vitamins a few days prior, and once I started taking them again both symptoms stopped and haven't been back! It goes to show how much we really need those vitamins right now!

I know! I thought bananas were an infinite resource. Apparently not :(

  • This obviously doesn't help you, but I had a crazy eye twitch one day last week!  Completely out of the blue, but it was just that one day (so far).  I thought it was so strange

  • I had this all of the time in high school.  My doctor's always told me it was a form of a migraine.
  • I wouldn't worry too much. This happens to me when I'm stressed or haven't had enough sleep. I'm guessing that at this point one of those would be the reason as everyone else has already said.
Wouldn't hurt to ask about it at your next appointment to be on the safe side.
