Toddlers with eczema?

Anyone dealing with eczema on your toddler? What bath/body products do you use?

Re: Toddlers with eczema?

  • I lotion my son twice a day with Renew lotion from Melaleuca. I order it on-line, and it works really well. I use a little Aquaphor shampoo in the bath and no body wash per the ped's recommendation. When he has flare-ups, I use hydrocortisone sparingly. Good luck; I hope you find a product that works.

  • My DD has it really bad on the back of her legs where her knee is. I just started using Aveeno Eczema Lotion. Before I put her to bed I gave her a bath and rubbed the areas with the lotion. In the morning it already cleared 75%! I now apply it when she wakes up and before she goes to bed. Good luck! :)

  • We just started the Aveeno Ezcema lotion with hydrocortisone spot treatment on red flare up spots as needed. The dr recommended applying the lotion with diaper changes. Apparently 2 times a day was not enough. We also use aquaphor baby bath wash very sparingly.

  • Thanks. We have an rx cream to treat it, but once it's cleared up we need to switch up her products and see if that keeps it at bay. I didn't know Aquaphor had shampoo or body wash, I'll have to look into those!

We got a prescription from our pedi to clear it up and switched from Aveeno to California Baby. So far so good.

  • I still use Johnson and Johnson for bath but it is in his arm crease - the doctor said hydrocortizone is best and it has worked well.

We use California Baby body wash/shampoo and then rx hydrocortisone on any bad spots, Cetaphil for Eczema over that on her body and Aquaphor on her face.

  • We started using Shea Moisture brand.  It's got shea butter, aloe, and argan oil in it, so it's a great natural moisturizer.  I hated the way aquaphor and the like felt and they didn't really cut it.  We use that twice a day and she does great!  Plus, it smells awesome so I rub all the extra into my own hands in the mornings :)

  • Try Arbonne's Baby Care Line. Botanically based skincare. A friend of mine used it on her 5 month old who had it bad, was about to get shots for it. After 2 weeks her sons skin was completely clear!

Johnson and Johnson got their license revoked for baby care and Aveeno is a Johnson and Johnson product. Check your labels!

    Good luck!

  • I use Aveeno baby eczema lotion and baby wash. It's the only thing that helps my 17 month old.

  • Cerave cream morning and night.

Dove sensitive baby wash sparingly in the tub. Baths every night and cream within 3 minutes. Homemade natural laundry detergent and all cotton clothing make a big difference too.
