Anyone have this?

I've had numb hands for about an hour or two now.  Went to the grocery store with DD and that's when I noticed it.  I don't remember reading about it as a normal symptom, but who knows??  I just don't know if it could be something serious.

Re: Anyone have this?

  • Sometimes my hands will go numb and tingle and also my baby toes do the same thing. OB says its fine as long as it doesn't last several hours. I will call if you are worried. It's probably jut poor circulation, which is also normal during pregnancy.

  • Thanks!  I'm going to give it until in the morning, and if it is still this way I'm calling.

  • Mine go numb.  It can be heart burn or the beginning of carpal tunnel.  Are they achy occasionally too?

My bet would be something more along the lines of carpal tunnel. Swelling/inflammation can cause decreased circulation.

Heartburn? Anyone want to explain the pathophysiological relationship between heartburn and hand numbness?

  • Mine go numb a couple times a day lately... I really didn't relate it to the pregnancy, but it started happening while pregnant!

  • I had pregnancy related carpal tunnel, which is apparently fairly common. Wrist splints helped a lot.

Agreed. That is what it sounds like. I have to wear braces at night because it gets so bad during pregnancy. After I had DD I needed steroid shots too.
