Hey lovely ladies of SAIF! So the RE called this morning to tell us that all 10 of our embryos are still dividing and looking good, so they pushed us to a 5dt.
This is good news, obviously, but last time we did a 3dt, and now we are in unchartered water. When we got pregnant with DD, we put transferred two embryos (1 fair 7 cell and 1 good 8 cell) and the rest of the embryos arrested shortly thereafter.
What do you all know about pregnancy and multiples rates of putting back blasts on day 5? We were going to transfer 2 again if we had a 3dt, but now we are on the fence and want some information. I'll obviously ask my RE for guidance, but I thought you wise women might have some good stats. We are both under 30.
Thanks and happy weekend!

Re: I need your knowledge! :)
ETA I took out percentages because I don't know if they were accurate.
No stats here either, but we transferred 2 blasts on day 5 (at the advice of our RE) for our last IVF cycle and my 1 month old twins are sleeping on their activity mat right now. We had also planned to transfer 2 on day 3 as we only had 6 eggs retrieved (and had also transferred 2 for the previous cycle that gave us our singleton). When all of our mature embryos (5 of 6) were still dividing on day 3, we were pushed to a 5dt. I was 30 at the time.
I would say the chances of at least one of the blasts implanting if you do a 5dt are excellent, and the chances that you would end up with twins are pretty good. My expert medical opinion, obviously Good luck!
 Good luck!

Your trips are getting so big. They are all so handsome. Hope they are giving you some rest times.
We did a eSET the first time because the success rates were nearly the same for a patient with a good prognosis. I was labeled as poor prognosis during my second cycle due to a history of a failed cycle and lesser embryo quality, so we transferred two and both stuck.
12dp5dt: 765; 15dp5dt: 1979; 17dp5dt: 3379...TWINS!!!!!
Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
It's a hard decision but in our case the second one wasn't in good enough shape to freeze and we didn't want to lose it so we decided last second to transfer both.
Good luck in your decision and FX for a BFP for you!
Thanks for the replies!
I spoke to the RE today, and he gave us the following odds:
If we transfer 2 blasts: 60-75% chance of pregnancy and 30-40% chance of twins depending on quality.
If we transfer 1 blast: 40ish% chance of pregnancy with 1% chance of twins.
I think we are leaning towards transferring two and living with the multiples risks. Anyway, thanks for the input!
IVF # 1 ~ Antagonist ~ ER 1/27/11~ ET 1/30/11 ~ + HPT 7dp3dt
DD born med-free on 10/24/11
Hooray for happily dividing embies!
We put back two on Day 3 that were "prefect" and just got Isaac. We have two Day 5 blasts that we will be transferring one at a time. We figured if they made it to blast, we aren't taking our chances with twins.
