wcm and weaning q's

So currently we are completely off formula (my wallet is happy!) and she is taking wcm out of bottles. My first question...are yalls kids taking wcm straight from the fridge? She doesn't like the temperature and will push the bottle nipple out of her mouth with every few sips, making a mess. So I've had to warm every bottle in a cup of hot water, which is time consuming esp when she's cranky. Any tips on getting her to take it cold? Or is it a lost cause?

My other question, and this is probably stupid. How do I start the weaning process from bottle to sippy? Right now she gets a large morning bottle, then about an hour later gets breakfast with a sippy of water. This pattern pretty much continues throughout the day. She takes water from the sippy no problem with meals, do I just replace that water with milk and quit giving her water? Or do they still need water too? How many oz of wcm should she be getting a day?

Re: wcm and weaning q's

  • I warm up the milk a little in the microwave. I pop it in for 15seconds just to get rid of the chill. She is completely off formula and down to the recommended two cups of wcm. So I just put her milk in her sippy cup with breakfast first thing in the morning. She's usually starving so she chugs it anyway. Then water throughout the day in the sippy after. I still give her the night bottle right before bed but its only 8oz. I just make sure to give her snacks and 3 square meals. So far so good :]. Now if I could just figure out that last bottle.
