Babies: 9 - 12 Months

On their birthday

We are having a big party for our LO the week after her birthday, but I am wanting to do things on her actual birthday to make it special. I know she won't know the difference, but I really want to celebrate all day that day (except for in the evening when I have an appt I can't, miss :( )

What are you doing / what ideas do you have of how we could spend the day? I work from home, and I will have that day off. I'm thinking ill feed her all of her favorite foods for her meals, go to the park, on a walk,... But I'm not sure what else. Maybe meet daddy for lunch?

Re: On their birthday

  • We did a party for LO this past weekend and his birthday is Friday.  I took the day off work and we're going to the local petting zoo and we'll have a picnic lunch there.  He won't remember and he may not even enjoy it, but I wanted to do something special.  Since he's (most likely) our one and only, I think I'll take the day off from work every year and make the day special for him.

  • The park is a great idea, so is meeting daddy for lunch.

Yesterday, I took my boys to the zoo.  Since we have a membership, we go all the time, so I guess it wasn't very special.  But we hadn't been in awhile.

They also opened a gift in the morning, and grandma's gifts in the late afternoon.  They also had a cupcake, played with their new toys, & went for a walk after daddy was done with work.  Needless to say, they were wiped out....so was mommy :)  But it was a fun day.  Looking forward to their party this weekend!

  • We are having LOs party a week after her birthday also because her bday falls on a Monday. I plan on waking her up with balloons and presents then go to the pool because that is her favorite thing right now. Then go to dinner with the family at our favorite restaurant.

With DD2, she is now five, we went out for supper and for a walk.  Her birthday party was the next weekend.  I bought her a cupcake for her enjoyment on her birthday and made her cake for her birthday party.

  • We'll be up visiting family that week. We're having her party Saturday (birthday is Tuesday). I'm planning to take her to one of those indoor play spaces, they have a special "crawlers" area and i thought she'd have fun climbing & playing. We'll most likely do our usual things too like visit the park. And she'll get to see Dad & grandparents all day.

  • I think I lucked out.  Their birthday is on a Saturday.  We're having a pool party at my friend's house with all their favorite adults here.  I'm doing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme and hope to get some good pictures.

  • LO's bday is on a Sunday- so we are going to have ppl over and cook out, but if i were during the week I would maybe make him a small bday cake and maybe just have DH and I hang out with LO.

I know a friend of mine took her son to an indoor playground with her husband-her LO's was during the winter.

    maybe a water park/pool?
