6 month growth spurt

It's been super fun over here!

Goes to bed at 7pm (after bath, bottle, and now a solid), and even then gets up for a bottle at 10pm, 3am, and 6am.  O_O  Are we back in the newborn days?  I think so!

Throw teething (2 teeth above the gums and more coming!) into that mix and we're having a parrrrrr-tay!

Who else is with us?

Re: 6 month growth spurt

  • Oh yeah, it's no fun. I think we're about through with the growth spurt since she STTN for the first time in nearly a month last night. At least I hope. Her two bottom teeth have broken through, you can barely see them, but can feel them. And we all have a cold, good times.

  • We did the 6 month spurt at about 5 months, 2-3 weeks.  It was 4 or 5 days of awfulness... Waking up every 1.5 to 2 hours over night.  I thought I was going to die at work!  However, after it ended, she miraculously started sleeping like an angel - has STTN 90% of the time since then.  We don't have any teeth yet, though... I'm hoping that doesn't take us through a whole extra round of sleepless nights.  I hope you have the same luck with sleeping soon :)
  • Yes, we went through the 6 month growth spurt early too.  It also coincided with teething (he has two bottom teeth now).  It SUCKED and it totally reminded me of having a newborn again.

We are finally starting to get better sleep at night but it's very inconsistent at this point.  I just wish he'd be a little more predictable, whether it'd be lots of waking or waking only once or twice.  It would be easier if I knew what to expect.  The worst part of his inconsistency is my milk supply.  Sometimes I'm engorged and leak everywhere and other times I feel like I don't have enough to feed my very hungry baby.

  • My DD is just over 6 months old. I put her to bed at 10, she's up at 2:30, 5:30-7 then is back up at 9:30! I feel like I'm living back in her newborn days! I'm totally exhausted. It's nice to know I'm not the only one going through this!

  • I think we are going through it now.  She woke up a lot over the weekend and seems generally unhappy.  she refused to nap yesterday afternoon unless I nursed her to a drowsy state then she only napped a short time. I was busy doing things in the bedroom when she woke up and she was pissed that I wouldn't take her out right away and even when I put her on our bed so I could finish what I was doing, she wouldn't have it. She calmed immediately when I put her in a bouncer because she was basically bored.  She STTN about 6 hours last night which was great but I know it is short lived because this is her pattern: some fussy nights, then her normal routine, then STTN until my boobs are ready to explode.
