Small Vent

Before I had kids, I never imagined that the two most difficult things for my child would be pooping and eating.  He can do so much and knows so much, but I'm just so frustrated that he his two issues are with such natural things.

I just needed to vent for a minute and I knew the ladies here would understand. Sad

Re: Small Vent

  • I completely understand. We give DS1 miralax every 3 days to help him out and there is no more frustrating time of our day then meal time. I hate how hard he has to work for skills that just come naturally to NT children. ((Hugs))

Oh yes.  We are having severe constipation/withholding issues in this house right now.  It is by far the most frustrating thing we have dealt with so far, and we've dealt with a lot.  And no.  No one gets it.  Hang in there!

  • I can understand. We do a little Miralax every night, but sometimes we still have to give an enema. We get excited to see poo poo!

  • Thanks ladies.  I knew you would understand.  We're trying to potty train and it's not easy since now he wants to hold his pee as well.  Plus, we started new speech therapy this week and it just reminded me how much he doesn't eat.

Hopefully we can at least figure out the peeing thing and then work on the pooping. Hopefully.

  • Ha!  I hear you on both of those.  I totally understand and with my DD's dx the pooping one specifically is a very common issue.  You are totally not alone!

  • My son has a really hard time pooping. His pediatrician put him on lactulose daily. It seemed to help, but he still had hard days. Pardon the pun ; anyway, I ended up switching his milk from whole milk to soy milk! It has worked wonders and my son hasn't been constipated In MONTHS! Good luck
