baby FB pages

2 of my FB friends have FB pages for their babies. A part of me is like great! Maybe they'll post their 1 million posts about every single thing their baby does on there vs. blowing up my news feed every time their baby poops. Another part of me is like why?

Thoughts?

I think when DS is old enough, he can make his own page. I don't personally know anyone who has done that and I do think it's weird.

This. Plus I will be the one to determine he is old enough. 8 yo's shouldn't have facebook IMO, but I know some who do.

Yep, I have a friend that did this too. Inappropriate in my opinion. They "tag" the baby in all the pictures, status updates, etc. I guess they are doing it so they can look back and see everything in one place, but that's what scrapbooks are for.

It's weird. If I want to tag a picture of my baby, I tag myself and DH. The kid cannot use the computer! It reminds me of when people talk to others in their status who are not even on fb....example, the other day my SIL posts "happy anniversary to my hubby, love you so much, blah blah blah." BIL is not on fb and never will be. Stupid.

DH's friend created a FB page when their kid was still a fetus. No joke. I side eye people who create FB pages for their babies. Also, like Manda stated, if it was used to post a million pics and not clog up everyone's feed, I MAY see the point. However, the people I see who do this just "tag" their kid.

I've had so many friends do this and I just don't understand it. We know when baby posts on your page, Mom, that it's just you. Weird.

I've seen it a lot more lately. It is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. And when they put the whole baby's name [first, middle, and last], that just freaks me out even more.

I unfortunately have several fb friends that have pages for their very young children [like under 5 years old]. Yesterday was the last day of preschool so I saw a lot of "children" posting about that...

Agreed! It also just seems like a waste of time. I can barely keep my own page updated let alone worrying about one for DD.

IMO it's very stupid and a waste of time. If someone wants to have a place to upload pics and stats on their baby then they should do a blog or make a photo book.
