Prickly heat/ heat rash?

Ds has had these tiny raised bumps on his torso and right shoulder blade. On Monday they were a little red, now just raised with normal skin coloring. He doesn't seem irritated, and I did put a call into the ped on Monday who said keep an eye on it. Has anyone seen this before, could it be a heat rash maybe? I'm not super concerned, but he has never had any skin issues before, and I'm wondering how long this might last! Thanks!

  • Every now and then, DS gets something similar.  I asked our Ped about it and she said not to worry.  She said we could put hydrocortisone cream on it if it looks bad or just let him cool down and dry off.

My ped told me babies just get rashes. if its not bothering them or obviously something wrong, not to worry.

I would agree with this.  You'll know if it's a problem.  Their skin is so sensitive that sometimes it get irritated.  Could be heat rash or some sort of contact dermatitis.  I would just leave it be unless it seems to be bothering them or of a concerning nature.  If it looks dry coconut oil is always a nice option for moisturizing.

  • Thank you all! I was just worried it could possibly spread to other parts of his body, but so far it has not! At least it isn't bothering him!
