I haven't posted here in forever, but I'm so sad-happy because my little boy is graduating from the crib today. Sure, he'll have a mile-long guardrail, but it's still a real bed. Ugh, I hope the adjustment isn't too long. How did your LOs do when you moved them, if you have already?
Re: Big Boy Bed
For us- it was super easy. He still fell out of the toddler bed once. Moved to toddler bed in Dec and to a twin bed in February. If he doesn't have a guard rail- he does still fall out! I do baby gate him in his room- we have had a number of stealth mode instances that resulted in broken eggs! It is safer for him. Now- 4 months later- he yells for me when he gets up to let me know that he is up. "I waked up Momma" or " I didn't poop"- not sure how that started, but it is cute!!
Good Luck!!

That is great. We made the transfer a few months ago.
Congratulations I see you are expecting again.
We switched a few weeks ago and the transition went great. She has only gotten out of bed a few times but we just led her back telling her it was now bedtime and she actually stayed there!
Also congrats on #2!

Our transition took about 3 nights. The first night, she just jumped on the bed forever, until I sat in her room with her while she fell asleep. The next night, she kept getting out of the bed and ended up falling asleep on the floor. The third night was the charm. Just stick with it, and it shouldn't take too long to get adjusted.

Thank you, we just started trying and I got KU right away. I'm still in shock.
I'm glad it's going well! We got the bed rails in yesterday and I think we might start the transition this weekend - I'm very nervous.
Also, congrats on #2!!
Jared built Liam's big boy bed a few weeks ago. It's just natural wood -- no waterproofing or anything. He just did it on a break between teaching classes. (He has an hour and a half break, so he just came home and built it.)
He just measured it using our crib mattress, so that's how he got the dimensions. Here's Liam trying it out when it was being put together in the living room :-)
Liam still comes in to our room first thing in the morning and sleeps/snuggles for a few more hours.
Mac and cheese lover!
