Hi BSB! Haven't really posted on here, but always check it out because I love when people post about tacky invites. I am now going to add to the collection...

I received the invite for a jack & jill baby shower yesterday, it is being held tomorrow. The shower is for a cousin on my father's side of the family and his girlfriend, I haven't seen this cousin in about 15 years. He is 18 now. So now the good part, on the invitation were a series of requests (or demands, as DH put it)

1. Bring diapers and wipes, preferably Huggies, for diaper raffel... I dont know what this is.

2. Bring $5 to "Chip in for Pizza & Pop", BUT the booze will be provided (WTH?!?)

3. Also, registry information for BRU (there is no BRU where we live, it is 5 hours away)

Tacky? I dare say it is.... We won't be attending, but it would be fun to be a fly on the wall for this one

The mere fact that you didn't get the invite until 2 days before would be enough for me not to go, much less all that other nonsense. Some people's children, Geesh!

This one is truly a gem! My favorite part is that they asked you to chip in for pizza. This absolutely makes me squeal with amusement! People are so fantastic.

I asked my dad who is hosting and he said the rsvp on the bottom was the mommy to be and that she and her mom are hosting. He side eyed the whole thing and said that the majority of the family are not attending and most of them don't approve of it because this is her second child and she keeps telling him it may not be his Lo. I was expecting to see a book instead of a card and bring your own cake on the invite as well lol

Yikes, sounds like the shower is the least of the problems here!

Maybe you're supposed to bring your own alcohol since the shower is being thrown by the underage parents to be. LOL

Oh wait, just saw that booze is provided. Fake ID, perhaps?

yup. I'm sure it's going to be super tacky and in someone's garage like a PP said, but alcohol is normal. They served mimosas at my baby shower, its a party and you want people to relax and have a good time.

Nope, you read it right. He is 18, we are in Canada and the legal age is 19. This is just one hot mess and I'm so tempted to go just for the entertainment factor

I say go for the entertainment and JUST bring some huggies, wipes, and $5.

Probably not what they had in mind. Ha. Think of it as helping a baby that is going to need all the help it can get with parents like this. lol.

Aside from the fact that the parents-to-be are underage, what's wrong with booze at a baby shower? Booze makes every party better... Party!!!

Heck, even the underage parents to be don't bother me, I'm assuming there will be people of age there. We had alcohol at Li's 1st birthday party, every Bar Mitzvah I've ever been to there has been liquor, just because the guest of honor isn't of age doesn't mean no one can drink.

I would go and take the smallest pack of diapers, the smallest pack of wipes, no money ("Not eating, thanks!") and sit back and watch the drama - surely that's worth the price of admission :-D.
