What's your child's feeding like?
my 9 month old has 4 8oz formula bottles a day normally 8am 12pm 4pm and 8pm
yogurt or oatmeal with fruit for breakfast
a veggie pur?e for lunch
a snack usually soft fruits and puffs
a meat and veggie pur?e for dinner
he doesn't have teeth yet so I'm just looking for different meal ideas. We are starting to add more regular food to his diet and less pur?es.
Any tips or recipes would be appreciated
Re: 9 month old feeding like
Breakfast: pancakes/waffles with fruit, or eggs with fruit, or sometimes cereal [like cheerios] with fruit.
Lunch: leftovers from dinner from the night before, or a quarter of a sandwich [he'll eat any kind], steamed carrots, or other veggies, and yogurt.
Dinner: whatever we eat. He had steak, and roasted potatoes and broccoli last night.
Morning before work: Breastmilk from the tap
At daycare: 3 or 4 oz of solids for breakfast, 3 or 4 oz of solids for lunch, 2 or 3 bottles of pumped milked. (Alternate bottles and solids.)
Evening after work: Breastmilk from tap, a couple times. Hit or miss on giving 3 or 4 oz of solids.
Random snacks through the day: Puffs or yogurt drops.
6:30 5 oz breastmilk
8:00 breakfast oatmeal
10:00 5 oz breastmilk
1111:30 lunch
1 5 oz breastmilk
2:30 snack only do this sometimes
4 5 oz breastmilk
5:30 dinner He has recently started eating whatever we eat, just cut into really small pieces
7:30 5 oz breastmilk
Some go to foods: Soft cheese in small pieces, lunch meat, plain yogurt, steamed veggies, avocado, crackers with hummus, cut up fruit
My LO loves: pureed carrots, with torn bits (or pureed) turkey, finally add in rice. What I love is it's a great recipe to transition with. You can puree it all, or just the carrots & meat. Or even just the carrots. We generally puree carrots & meat then I leave the rice for texture. (turkey is the best, but I have used leftover chicken as to not waste any)
6:30am - small pieces of cut up fruit and a pancake or something similar along with a 4oz bottle. I just put her bottle on the tray with her food and she drinks from it with her meal just let we do. (This happens at lunch and dinner as well.)
9:00ish - 6oz bottle
12ish - whatever we or the sitter is having for lunch or leftovers with a veggie or some kind and the 4oz bottle.
3ish - 6oz bottle
6pm - whatever we are having for dinner along with a 4oz bottle. Sometimes we pour her bottle milk into a sippy for practice.
She occasionally has snacks throughout the day.
