Baby toes

Now that summer is here I love that my boys don't need to wear socks all the time they are so much happier, there's less fighting about putting socks on AND I love baby toes! Even my 2.5 year old has cute cubby little feet still. I love it!!

What about the warm weather clothing are you and your lo enjoying.

Re: Baby toes

  • I'm enjoying not having to wrestle my DD into a sweater or jacket when we go out. The warm weather allows her to go out in whatever I have on her that day. It's nice!

  • Not to hijack the post, but this brings to mind a debate my mom and I had over the weekend. When is it ok and until what age do you take your baby out in public bare foot...if you think it's ok at all.

I took DD to Walmart shoeless because she was asleep so I popped her in her carseat and planned to just put her car seat in the cart at the store. Also it was super hot and humid so I saw no need to make her feet sweaty when they wouldn't be touching the ground. My mom said I should have put shoes on her so I wouldn't look like a "lazy parent". I said well I'm going to walmart where statistically the crowd of parents I often see there are beyond lazy, borderline negligent so my shoeless kid wouldn't compare. But in all seriousness. Would you have put shoes on your baby? In what situations do you not bother?

  • We rarely put shoes on lo. I guess now that he's learning to walk I'll have to start thinking about that!!!

My two year old still goes barefoot at times, if he's staying in the stroller or cart. It may be lazy parenting but there's bigger battles I choose to pick with him.

If they aren't actually walking on the ground I don't think it matters. I can't ever say I saw a kid/baby barefoot and thought the parents were lazy. If they were walking around then I would probably wonder why the kid doesn't have shoes on. But this is coming from someone who's baby hates shoes and refuses to keep them on. She even figured out the Velcro ones.

That's what I figured. I didn't see how anybody would care to notice anyway. I was grocery shopping tonight and couldn't tell you now if any of the kids in shopping carts were actually wearing shoes or not. I never bothered to look.

  • I'm so glad I don't have to struggle with a jacket anymore. It was always our biggest battle when going out.

Regarding shoes I only put them on if she will be walking around outside somewhere like DH's softball games. I hardly ever put them on to go to the store.
