Ear infections with tubes Question

My  ds got tubes in MArch.  he has had one ear infection since then about a month ago.  With this ear infection he had drainage just like the ENT said he would.

Last night he was up all night screaming.  He screamed when we put him inot bed too.  This is not like him, he is a great sleeper.  Before the tubes I would assume ear infection.  But he has no drainage.  Do they always have drainage with an ear infection after tubes? Could he have an ear infection with nothing draining out?

I have a call into the doctor but just curious if anyone knows.

He could have an ear infection with no drainage which is why it is bothering him.  The drainage is good...releaves the pressure.  But it could also be teeth.  My son had tubes in Dec but hasn't had an ear infection since, however I just noticed the other day that I think I felt a bump back where his first molars would come in.  Are there any other symptoms?  DS has been very cranky and sleeps ok but has been squawking in the middle of the night.  But he has also been spitting out food and rejecting things that are harder to eat. GL!

  • It could be.  My DS had 4 infections in the span of 2 months with tubes and never had drainage.  Come to find out one tube was full of dried up blood.  I would take him to the doc and have them look at his ears.
