Really bad heartburn

I've only really had heartburn bad while preg. Since having DD I get it daily though. I had pizza last night and since have had horrible chest, back, throat, pain and can't stop burping. This is ridiculous! DH is going to get me some Prilosec today, hopefully it does the trick. I know it takes a few weeks.
Am I the only one? Someone else has got to have this too.

    I've had acid reflux since I was a teen. Omeprazole was the only thing that worked for me after a while and I had to use it before eating hot food to avoid heartburn. I have even been in the hospital for it. Since DD though.....NONE! Preg does weird things to your body. I have always had to take something for even a sip of soda and now I don't even think about it.

    I know your pain though and Prilosec will work but you have to take it every day or you can just get the over the counter omeprazole and make sure to take one before you eat meals that trigger your heartburn. Also a side note- taking omeprazole changed the way food tasted to me. Most lettuce tasted like bleach. I couldn't eat anything from Taco Bell b/c the produce smelled like bleach. Weirdest thing ever!

    OP, I can't say that I have it really bad, but I do get heartburn from things that didn't bother me before I got pregnant...I wasn't really prone to heartburn before so it's taken me by surprise and I've suffered after meals like I never had before.

    I swore by Papaya enzymes when I was pregnant. Maybe give those a try.
