I think DS is pretty gassy, but aren't all babies? Is there a point at which I should take him to the doctors about it?
He has a tongue tie that we never got clipped because he was feeding and gaining fine, but someone mentioned to me yesterday that this could be causing the gas with him. So, I curious if I should try and take him in to ask about the tongue tie again or wait a few weeks until his 4 month check-up.
Re: How much gas is too much gas?
My son had a tongue tie that was fixed. He is 12 weeks now, and I would say pretty much as gassy as he was before the tongue tie was fixed at 2 weeks. I could see how it might cause gas though because when they have a tongue tie they have to work extra hard to eat so maybe swallow a lot of air in the process?
As far as getting the tongue tie fixed...it was over before he knew it. A tiny bit of blood but really no big deal. FYI in case you are considering having it done sometime. My son was gaining a little slow and eating non-stop so we had it fixed. I was also worried that it would cause problems with speech in the future.
