Contracting vagina

Maybe I'm not using the right terminology.. But being a ftm I don't know if this is normal. I've begun to feel the baby move and kick, but today I'm feeling this weird convulsing moving in and out feeling in my vagina... It's freaking me out.. Is this normal? Has anyone else felt this? Other than that I have a little cramping on my left side. Had a md visit yesterday and heartbeat was good..

    Maybe a muscle spasm? Like a twitchy eye, but a twitchy vag instead?

    It is like this weird sort of pain that shoots down through your vag area when the baby kicks a certain nerve that's near your cervix (they believe that's the cause anyway). Feels almost like when you hit your funny bone, like a tingly pain.

    Exactly what it sounds like.  Feels like lightening hitting your crotch.  Kind of a tingly, cramp.  You'll know exactly what it is when it happens.

    You can definitely get pulsing sensation down there from muscle spasms and let me tell you if they happen in the urethra it's enough to make you roll up into a ball and want to die! Thankfully, I haven't gotten these sense I've gotten pregnant but I would say it is either a spasm or "lightning crotch" from what you are saying!

    Not sure how I got through my first pregnancy without feeling it but I also have no idea what it is. Hope I never do.

    Sounds like a muscle spasm to me. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about.

    The whole time this was happening... I kept thinking.. If this is how uncomfortable I feel now... What in the hell is labor going to feel like!! I have no threshold for pain!
