Frozen Breastmilk

So I know BM is good for 6 months in a standalone deep freezer, but have any S+TMs ever used it after it's been stored for that long? How long is the longest you've stored BM prior to use? 

We have a double door fridge/freezer and I have pumped BM from April. According to storage guidelines it's good for at least 3 months, but I'm still a little skeptical about storing for that long. Right now, I have over 150oz stored now and will be really pissed if it ends up going bad. I go back to work July 1st and that's when we plan to start using the freezer stash.

    I used BM that was frozen for 3 months with DD1 and never had any issues. Just make sure to use within 24 hours once thawed.

    I used with DS1 at 3 months, it was fine. Just start rotating out your stash once  you start work, and you'll be fine.

    This. I have 600 oz and am done with work for the summer. So I keep my first morning pump in the fridge and freeze the rest. I take out a few frozen bags at 5pm every night and use them before hubby gets home at 5pm.
    I think it's a good idea to take it out the same time everyday if you start rotating it

    I too have a large freezer stash of BM but don't return to work until August (work in a school).  I would suggest rotating out some of the old frozen milk each week.  I have been using 2-4 bags of frozen milk each week.  This way, by the time we start daycare in August- we will be using milk from July rather than April.
