Should have listened

To my mommy instinct. Milla got hives from peaches and also apples. The PA at her pedi assured me it was contact dermatitis because of her sensitive skin and not an allergy. So tonight I gave her some apple. Ugh, red eyes that assume are itchy because she won't stop rubbing them, congestion, and we are now on 5.5 hours of trying to stay asleep longer than 20 minutes. I feel so bad! I should have known, my friends daughter will get a few hives here or there with some of her allergies and that's what DD has done. The stupid PA said a true reaction would be hives in her hot spots. My friends DD doesn't get that and she's six and has been tested. I feel so bad for her. : hopefully she outgrows it. My friends girl had loads, corn, eggs, nuts, wheat... Now it'd only peanuts and one other nut. Sigh.

  • Last night sucked. She would sleep for 1520 min at a time, that's it. I tried sleeping with her, but was reminded why I gave her the boot several months ago. Girl is all over the place. So that lasted an hour. Finally she slept from 5640

  • Sorry hun : (  I hope that she startes feeling better! Not sure about how to do this but is there a way to desensatize kids to allergies? I heard about it recently with a kid with peanut allergy. Like tiny amounts every so often. But again, she could just grow out of it.

  • Hopefully she outgrows in soon! You may want to be careful with introducing other foods, since you now know she has apple allergy. She could have reactions to other foods.

This is interesting. I have never heard of this. But I am not an food allergy expert by any means. My friends daughter is allergic to peanuts, milk and eggs. Each time she came into contact with the food item, her reactions actually got worse. It started with just red lips and the last time she had eggs, she went into anaphylactic shock.

I have been hesitant because of my allergies, now I'm really going to be cautious.

I heard about the tolerance thing. I don't remember where I reAd it though,
