My daughter is 8.5 months old and has decided she likes pushing things around the floor. The problem is, these things (such as her baby piano) aren't meant to be pushed, so she runs into a lot of resistance which of course leads to frustration. I want to get her some kind of push along toy, but I worry about that as well because our floors are hardwood. Wouldn't the toy just push out too fast and she'll fall flat on her face? She just recently started cruising and I don't want to scare her away from progressing due to a face plant, but I also want to encourage her to practice her walking. I've heard that baby walkers are no-nos now, so I'm kind of at a loss for what toy would be best for her at this stage of development. Any suggestions?
Re: Push toys?
Some of the push toys have friction on the wheels added to make it easier to walk with them. I got this one for my daughter, it's got little ratchets that slow it down.
We got our LO a push toy at 8 months and we have hardwood floors and he's totally fine with it. It might get out ahead of him every once in a while but he's never faceplanted or hurt himself.
I bought this one and he loves it.
