throwing up after taking prenatal...

I tried and tried not to throw up but I only made it up to a half hour after taking my prenatal.  I did take with food.  I actually think I ate too much, since I haven't eaten barely anything.  I guess there is not much I can do except take my vitamins tomorrow....ugh Ick!  This is the first time I couldn't handle the nausea afterwards.

Re: throwing up after taking prenatal...

  • I was the same way. My doctor recommended I just not take them until I started feeling better. I found that taking them at night was helpful too.

  • I experienced the same thing for two months, got on prescription drugs to deal with the nausea.  I found out a bit later that the entire problem with my nausea was I was taking the prenatals in the morning and afternoon, but I should have been taking them at night right before bed.  Try that and I think it will help!
  • I take mine at night before I go to bed, try doing that. It worked for me!
  • I am taking them at night, but not before bed, because I can't take my synthroid (i have hypothyroidism) at the same time.  I guess I could switch my synthroid till the morning because thats a tiny little pill, and take this right before bed.

  • I had severe m/s during my first pregnancy. I threw-up several times sa day (and was nausious 24/7) for 5 months. I threw-up so much I actually lost 22lbs my first 5 months.  I couldn't even hold water down, so I gave-up giving my prenatal vitamin. I resumed taking them again during my 5th month when I could actually hold them down.

My second pregnancy was MUCH better (only threw-up a few times).

  • I will have to try it as night as well. Thanks!

  • Try taking them right before bed. Solved that issue for me.
  • Take them right before bed.
  • The only way I can keep mine down is to take it right before I hop into bed and I cannot take it with water or it really makes me sick. I usually take it with a little juice. Good luck!
  • I felt the same way and have since switched vitamins and have felt much better.

  • I can't stand the thought of swallowing pills and it seems as if my prenatals are like horse pills. I was taking them before I went to work in the morning. But, it became kinda impossible to run out of the classroom having to vomit. I have to take mine with milk at night before I go to bed.
