Try cold turkey to sippies

DD hasn't really had anything but a few sips since BF early this AM.  We are trying cold turkey to milk in sippies.  She has been refusing milk and formula in sippies, but guzzles water down.  Wish me strength!

If she doesn't give in by tonight, we will still give her a bedtime bottle.  Usually she has had two six oz bottles by now.

  • Hang in there. DD wasn't to found of the milk in a sippy at first either. After a day or two, it went well.

  • GL!  Hang in there.  We went cold turkey from FF in bottles to milk in sippy cups.  The first day, not so great.  The second day, I didn't offer her anything but milk in the sippy cup - no water, no juice, and she drank a lot when she was ready to.  Now, she drinks milk quite easily - it's been 2 weeks since we switched.  I LOVE no more bottles.
  • I remember we still gave DD a bottle of milk for naps & bedtime up until she was 16 months.  (we wanted her off the bottle by 18 months).  Just keep offering the sippy, leave it out on the coffee table, etc & she will eventually get the hint.  Just keep giving milk in the sippy & she will eventually drink it when she's thirsty!
