Hi Ladies,
I had an ultrasound today (second one in a week), which confirms I have mild polyhydramnios. I am currently 39 weeks 6 days, and my OB wants to induce toward the end of this week due to risk of cord prolapse and placental abruption. I have been planning an all natural birth and studying hypnobirthing, so the thought of having my OB rupture my membranes and start me on pitocin is terrifying! Does anyone have any experience with this? Are there any other tests or procedures I should be requesting?
Thank you for your help!
Re: Induction for polyhydramnios?
You said it was mild so its BS. Why did you have the ultrasound in the first place? Anytime they "look" for something, they will find it. Is your baby engaged and deep in your pelvis? If so, the chance of a prolapse is lower. If not, you need more time anyway- OR there is a reason for that (baby position, size, pelvic size, etc). Try to hold off- Good luck!

Based on this info I would definitely be wanting that 3rd opinion. Hopefully it's an unbiased one.
