Im torn between a twin and a full and i can not make up my mind, im hoping someone will have a good reason for one over the other. The bedding I want is on sale at PBK ha!
We went with a full size (with bed rails at first) for DD. She moved to it right after her second birthday. We decided on full size because we thought she would be able to use it longer than a twin, we had room for it, and we thought it would be more comfortable for her (she is a very floppy/active sleeper). She loved her "big girl bed" from the beginning and FINALLY started sleeping well at night. I honestly wish we had switched her sooner, and we probably will switch DS to a full size bed before he hits 2.
We went from a crib to a full. However, we did use a twin matteress on the floor a couple of weeks while we were waiting for her furniture to arrive. We went with the full for a few reasons:
1) we could still use that room as a guest room for an adult if we needed and just have DD sleep in our room on the floor
2) We don't have to upgrade in the future
3) If she has friend or her cousin spend the night they can both fit
Wow there are a lot of lucky kids in the world! I didn't sleep on a full size bed until I was 22! I was going to get DS a twin but now I may change my mind.
We went with a twin, mostly because we were getting bunk beds and we liked the twin over twin better than twin over full. DD1's room is also the smallest and a full would have been a really tight fit.

We went to a queen size, but that's what we already had so we didn't have to buy anything special. My son is a mover so he loves the extra space. Also if he has a bad night my husband or I can go lay in bed with him for an hour or so if needed and not worry about being uncomfortable.
We went to a queen because we had an extra queen bed. He does great in it! It doesn't have any rails, but it's so big that we can put pillows on each side of him. He loves it!!
We did a twin, but we already had the bed in a guest room. If I bought a new bed, I'd go full size because it will last them a looong time, possibly until they graduate and move it out with them! And a full would be small enough to leave play space in the room.
She is about to go to a full (toddler bed right now). Since I would want to get her a full by around 7 years old anyways I figured I'd skip a step and go straight to the full.
we cosleep, and when she was in our bed, we upgraded to a king. so when we put her in her room (and I often sleep in there with her) we gave her the old queen mattress (on the floor- later she'll get the bedframe, but we're in no rush). So we didn't have to buy anything new after replacing our own bed.
DD1 and DD2 along with nephew (we are his guardian.) are all in queen size beds. We have two in cribs, and when it is time, they will also go into queen.

I was thinking this too! DS will get a twin just because we have a twin already.
DD is still in a crib but when she does finally move to a "real" bed, it'll be a twin. I never had more than a twin until I moved out of my parents house.

Twin because his bedroom is teeny tiny.
