wow those parties look amazing! I love the Barbie photo box! Did you make the Barbie cake on your own? I was considering trying to do a hula Barbie cake later this month! Any tips? What kind of pan did you use for the dress?
I'm a professional cake decorator... I used two 8" one 7" and one 6" round layers. If you do not have those pan sizes you 'll just have to do more cutting and shaping.
Use a circle cutter (2.5") or a knife to cut a hole in all your cake layers before you assemble the cake (so barbie has a place to be inserted.
assemble the cake layers then freeze. After freezing come back and shape your cake with a serrated knife.
I suggest doing a crumb coat of icing first then insert the barbie. Put Barbie's arms in the air then wrap her top in saran wrap to keep her clean until you are ready to pipe on her top.
I like to use Barbies that already have a bodice so you do not have to pipe her top on. Like this one I did. Or you can have her wear a bikini top.
The hula barbies I have seen use a grass tip which is very forgiving.
