What are your opinions on the name Emmalise? I personally love it, but not sure if it sounds made up. It seems like it would be an old-fashioned name, but apparently it's fairly new...
it reminds me of amylase... or rather, enzymes in general because "ase" is the most common enzyme suffix... I know "ase" and "ise" are pronounced differently, but "emmalise" just reminds me of an enzyme....
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
I've never heard of it before. It's cool that she could have Emma or alise as a nick name. I like the spelling Alyse also.
If you're concerned with it being made up I know a girl with first name Emma middle name Leigh
Emma Leigh
I love that she can be Emma or Emily sounding

If you google this name you will find it on German Name websites. It is an old German name. Google also brings up several German adults with this name, one in particular is a famous author.
I have a niece named Elise. This sounds like a butchered version of her name. Emma and Elise are gorgeous in their own right. I say don't over complicate them by smushing them together.

That makes sense. But unless the OP has a German connection, I don't think its a great choice. It's the kind of name that is best used with a story/special connection IMO.

Yes, thank you.
I'm always surprised at what people on here automatically assume is made up.

Interesting. In that case I would assume its pronounced Emmalisa. In German the "e" at the end of the name wouldn't be silent.

I think it also sounds a bit forced/made up....

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
