What do you use to label bottles for daycare

Hi!  DS just started daycare and we're required to put names on bottles.  I've been using label stickers from my labemaker but it comes off every night when I wash it.  It's a pain to do every day.  I've used markers on bottles too but name is wearing off.  Can you please tell me how you label?  Thanks.

  • My daycare made you use special stickers that you put the date, whats in the bottle, how much, and the name of your baby. You had to do this for state regulations. Same with any food I brought.

Where did you get these stickers?

  • We use the photo id labels from inchbug. They stay on well and are really cute!

At my daycare most people just write on duct tape everyday..

Daycare gave them to use each day, but I"m sure you could make some with your printer and sticker paper. It's a state code here.

  • I ordered tape and labels from appliedlabels.com. They have permanent bottle name stickers that are dishwasher safe, then you can also order removable date stickers. I've used them for a month and love them so far!

  • A family member sent us labels from Mabels Labels that have our son's full name on them.  They are super cute.  I can't say much beyond that yet because we haven't started using them, but I've heard good things about that company.  I think you can order them online.

  • I put a piece of Scotch tape on the bottle, wrote her name in a Sharpie, then another piece of Scotch tape so it doesn't smudge. Works great :)

  • I had the opposite problem...We have to label daycare bottles everyday with the name/ date it was pumped/ and date it was sent. Everything I tired seemed to leave sticky residue or is more permanent like a marker....Finally i started using masking tape...not cute but it comes off clean :-)

I use labels from namebubbles and really like them. Since we heat our bottles we use the china marker provided with the labels for the day's date.

  • We used silicone wristbands that had DS1's name debossed.  Like the Livestrong bands, but with his name.  We got ones that fit around Born Free bottles (7 1/4 inches if I recall, though it's been a long time).  They worked great. I can't remember the company we used, but if you google custom silicone wristbands, there are a ton.

For his food containers, we got custom dishwasher safe labels with his name on them.  Still 3 years later, they are on his tupperware and they have been through the wash tons.  They also come off clean.  I can't remember what company we used for those either, but they were super cute with rockets on them.

ETA: We didn't have to put any daily information on them w/ the date or amount.  We just had to bring fresh every day and take it home if there were any leftover bottles.

  • Thanks everyone!  I'll look into each of these and see what will probably work best.
  • I found that "post-it" has rolls like scotch tape you can write on and stick them to the bottles.  After we started DC, all the other moms wanted to know where I got the labels, what they were, etc and now everyone uses them.  I got the rolls at Meijer, but anywhere with office supplies would have it - hopefully...

  • I use these things made by Dr. Brown's (I think I've seen them made by other brands too, but I found Dr. Brown's at Babies R Us) that are like a rubber band and just slip on and off your bottle. If you use fatter bottles those might not work, though.
