Sorry, I'm sure these questions are annoying! For Christmas we got DS's 3 teachers 50 gift cards for a restaurant. We gave the 3 assistants 15 gc's for a coffee place. For an end of the year gift should I spend the same amount?
eta: I didn't realize that mobile would take out my dollar signs. That should say 50 dollar g.c's and 15 dollar g.c's.
Re: Another teacher gift question
i feel like I'm over doing it!! I was fine with this at Christmas but now I feel like I've set a precedent and have to keep it up.
I was wondering if others are spending the same amount for year end as they did for Christmas, or if I can scale back at year end.
I am sure the 50 is greatly appreciated! There is no way we could afforded to give that amount. For Christmas we gave a 25 gc and 15 to all of the aides, therapist & bus driver. For the end of the year we gave 10 to everyone and 15 to DS teacher.
That is more generous than I am. For the holidays, my younger DD"s class puts up a wish list and you just buy something off that list, the before care program does the same. For my older DD's teacher (kindy) we did a gift card to the bookstore (during our schools fundraiser at the store) so she could buy new books for the class. The school is really big on teacher's gifts giving back to the school since the teachers end up spending so much of their own money for stuff.
For end of year - for the 3 main teachers (1 kindy and 2 PreK) we did $25 gift cards to well spa which can be used at a ton of different places in our area. For the PreK teacher's assistant, the kindy para and the speech teacher, we did $10 or $15 (I can't remember what I bought) Starbucks gift cards. I sent homemade cupcakes to the before care program (way to many staff members to do personal gifts) and the PreK program also got cupcakes as they have had my kids for 3 years and I wanted to do something a little extra.
For Christmas we did $50 teacher/ $25 assistant Gift cards to a restaurant
End of year we did $60/ $30 Gift cards to Target
