Toddlers: 24 Months+

Does your toddler eat veggies?

Mine will only eat them if they are cut up and put in other food. What veggies does your kid eat?

Re: Does your toddler eat veggies?

  • My 13 month old eats (all cooked) green beans, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potato, peas. Until lately he ate them straight, but lately  I have had to sprinkle parmesian cheese or shredded cheese over them. Some days are a hit, others a miss (except Sweet potatoes - loves them!)

  • She LOVES veggies.  The only thing she seems to dislike lately is lima beans.
  • not so much, it largely depends. Somedays yes, it certain items, somedays no.?

  • Mine will eat any veggie if it's IN something like stew, ravioli, or veggie patties (they like Dr. Praeger's spinach cakes & Morningstar Farms ginger rice cakes). ?They'll also sometimes eat sweet potato fries & green peas. ?Dd will eat green beans & broccoli if I put olive oil & pesto sauce on them! ?I have better luck w/ds if I can feed it to him off of a spoon,?but often he spits it out even then...he is pretty reluctant to pick up veggies off his tray & eat them. ?Today ds ate some cucumber & celery smeared w/hummus, but likely b/c daddy was eating it also & hand-feeding it to him! ?Dd preferred the pita. ?They are WAY more open to eating pieces of whatever we're eating!
  • Ooh, I like the idea of the hummus...

  • DD loves veggies.  Her favorite is probably broccoli.  She also likes green beans, peas and sweet potato.
  • She'll eat pretty much any veggie, though she doesn't love green beans (probably because I almost never make them b/c I'm allergic). She realllly likes asparagus (I make it w/scrambled eggs all the time) and broccoli.

She doesn't like tiny little pieces of food, she likes to see what it is. And she really doesn't like cheesy sauces or anything that disguises what the food is.

  • My DS LOVES broccoli, asparagus, cooked carrots, corn on the cob, green beans, edamame beans, and cauliflower.  Some days he doesn't want a thing, but most of the time it's not a struggle for us.

  • He won't eat them straight. Won't even touch them. I have to either puree and hide them in things (i.e. pureed sweet potato in pancakes or muffins, pureed cauliflower in mac & cheese or eggs), or like a pp said, have them inside of things, such as a spinach-cheese quesedilla, or some sort of veggie ravioli. I am so jealous of the moms whose toddlers will just scarf down veggies knowingly and willingly!!?
  • Until recently she liked every veggie she'd ever had. Recently she has turned against sweet potatoes and squash. But she will eat an amazing amount of green beans and wants all the veggies when we are grocery shopping.

  • It's not a struggle for us (yet!)   I am sure she'll go thru a phase.

She loves green beans and broccoli best.  Lima beans are not her fave and she won't touch sweet potatoe fries.

She loves the morning star farms sausage, ckn nuggets, and southwest patty.

  • LOL! DS will pretty much ONLY eat veggies. Getting him to eat meat is a REAL challenge.

And broccoli is his favourite veggie.

Yes I am blessed, but he was a hell of a handful for the first year. I feel I earned it.?

    ?

  • yes, funny enough one of his favorite meals is salad with 3 cheese dressing.  He also likes cooked broccoli and raw carrots.
