Upsetting appointment

I had my 37 week appointment today and didn't get the best news. My BP was up and fluids were very low. Since I am showing signs of pree, she scheduled me to go Into LD for monitoring in a couple days. The doc asked that I stay home from work, rest, and drink LOTS of fluids. I feel like I have been drinking sooo much water lately and still my levels are low. For those of you who have experienced this, how many ounces should I aim for a day?? I drank over 100 oz yesterday and still had very low levels. It's a vicious cycle... The more you drink, the more I have to get up to go to the bathroom.

  • How did they test your fluid level? My doc office doesn't do so many of the procedures i read about on the bump, and Im kind of glad. I mean its probably because i am extremely healthy and have had an easy pregnancy but i just wondered what would prompt them to check ur fluid level?

  • They say a gallon of water a day is ideal. I know it's hard to drink that much. It might take a few days also for your fluids to rise also. Just rest and relax. Pre-E is no joke! GL

They did a quick ultrasound to check fluid levels since I had elevated BP and swelling.

They measure the fluid on the ultrasound. It isn't a "procedure" per-se.

  • I had low levels and BP issues with my first pregnancy. I found if I drank at least 3 liters a day my level would be just in range. I drank (and peed) all the time. I also kept a water bottle on my night stand and a cup in the bathroom. Anytime I got up to go to the bathroom I also drank a glass of water. It really sucked, but it seemed to work well for me.
