Babies: 3 - 6 Months

is this normal?

DD is 3 months as of the first and has been showing signs of teething for about a week now. Chewing on her hands, drooling puddles, very fussy, then this morning she had a very slight fever, and my mom said DD's gums were a little swollen on the bottom front. This doesn't bother me, but my concern is that she has been asleep since I picked her up from the sitter at noon...it's now after 5pm. Is that normal in teething babies?

Not sure about normal but mine did this today too..has been really drooly the last couple of days.  Today slept most of the day and was super fussy.  No fever though. And he will be 13 weeks tomorrow.  I am not worried at this point.

May not be teething.  I've thought my baby was teething for over a month, and still no tooth in sight.

She probably isn't really teething. It's a developmental thing. Of course there is a chance she is but this sounds more like the typical 3 month old.

  • Sounds pretty common for a 3 month... Teething or not! Maybe be prepared for a growth spurt and lots of eating soon!

Agree with this. Our doctor said to expect ridiculous amounts of drool and that it doesn't necessarily mean teething.

  • yeah, my son starting teething at about 2 1/2 months. he's almost 6 months now, but when he was young and teething he slept a lottt during the day. He hasn't had any issues with teething yet, but we bought some infant baby oregeal just in case his teeth start bothering him.
