My DS goes to bed between 7pm and 8pm and wakes up within 45 minutes of going to sleep.  Sometimes I can get him to go back to sleep (but he usually wakes up again quickly) but usually he is up until after 10pm.  I feel like I've tried everything so I'm just guessing this is something he will grow out of eventually.  Has anyone else experienced this and then experienced it going away?!

Re: When will he grow out of this?
What time is his last nap? It might be too close to his bedtime, causing him to not be sleepy enough for the night? Also, I didn't see you siggy, could it be a wonder week, or a growth spurt?
My LO does this occasionally, for a week maybe and then goes back to her regular sleep schedule. But, I can't let her sleep past 5pm on her last nap or she won't go to bed at our 8pm goal. It ends up being more like 10 or 11.
Hope any of that helps!
ditto - sounds like 7 is a "nap" and bedtime was later (at least for the day). This has happened to us a few times. And being overtired can also contribute.
Yesterday, DS took his last nap from 245-330 and then took a little cat nap in the car around 430 for like 10 minutes and then I put him down at 7 for the night and he was up from 745-915. I think he was overtired.
My little man at 0-1-2
DD does the same thing. She sleeps a lot through the day and then likes to be awake in the evening. I usually get her to sleep in my arms around 8:30/9pm but if I try to put her down at that point, she wakes. By 10pm she's fully out though and I can put her down. I'm sure she'll back that up as she has more awake time during the day.
I keep reading about other babies' sleep habits and wondering how screwed my situation is. Going to bed at 7 pm or 8 pm seems norm except in my house. My 9 week old LO will nap for 60-90 minutes between his 5 pm bottle and 8 pm bottle but pretty much every night, he will NOT sleep at all between the 8 pm and 11 pm bottles. Total awake, playing. If I swaddle, sway, paci, anything, he will lay there eyes open. Then he will drink his 11 pm bottle, fall asleep at midnight and be totally out until around 4 am for the next bottle (this transition from three hours at 2 am to 3:30-4 am is new this week), wake for 30-40 minutes for that bottle, then be again totally asleep until the 7 am feeding.
While not actually STTN, I suppose he is getting a block of almost total sleep from 12 to 7, minute the 4 am feeding. But am I screwed by not having him asleep "for the night" at 7 or 8 pm?
Her last nap usually ends around 445 to 530 and I put her down 2 hours after the end of last nap
I have been trying to get my son to go to sleep by 8pm for weeks! He wakes up from his lat nap at 5:30pm and eats. Then he plays until bath time at 7pm. He gets his last bottle after his bath and then quiet time. He tends to fall asleep in my arms around 8pm or by 8:30 at the latest. The problem comes when I put him in his bassinet. He will be completely asleep when I put him in it, but wakes up 10-15 minutes later. My husband and I have nicknamed this his "5 minute fuss". He then has to be rocked back to sleep and doesnt usually go down for good until 9pm. I have pretty much decided this is his routine until he grows out of it. At least he consistently sleeps for 6-7 hours before his night feed.
I think that our LO are just so variable during the first 6mon-1yr that as soon as you get them into a routine, they change it!
