So, my OB office is not the greatest but I was so sick for the first few months I never fought them on any thing.
Now though I have caught myself being more aggressive but still barely getting answers.
I have been to the er twice. Once was for really bad round ligament pain that ended in being told to continue my daily activities but to portion out the time spent and if I have too much pain to rest. I was totally fine with that answer. It made sense.
The second time was 2 Saturdays ago. I woke up for one of my usual pee breaks from sleep. It was 4:45. I notices some bright red bleeding. Not a lot. It was only there when I wiped.(I had not had sex for 3 weeks so it was not that causing it) So the office sent me to the er. Almost 3 to 3.5 hours later I left being told I had a sensitive cervix and that I was still able to do everything as normal. I really do not understand how that is possible. For the next two days if I walked too much or cleaned a long time I would bleed like before. At this point, my husband had me just sit and rest and the next day I went to my doctor and explained it all. They said the same thing.
I never got an explanation as to what causes a sensitive cervix. I was told to watch for a lot of bleeding (such as enough to fill two pads in an hour). But does anyone know if this can cause an early labor or dilation to be quicker or things a long those lines? The office would just dodge these questions.
Any information or even a "i've been there" story would help. It all makes me nervous as this is my first child.
Thanks

I am with you. No they would not do an ultra sound. They said my placenta was high and where it should be at 20 weeks so there was no need to. They told me that it was sometimes normal to have and that for some women it is sensitive enough that walking a lot can cause it. I spent 2 hours on the phone with the doctors office and even asked in the office when I went.
And that doesn't make sense either. How do they know where your placenta is w/o doing an u/s? I know it's a real pain, but I'd seek a 2nd opinion/switch OBs...
