Natural (safe) cold remedies

Ugh. I feel like crap - nose, throat and just over all crumminess plus I am getting zero sleep because I am so hot but the fan is making it impossible for me to breathe. Does anyone know of any proven natural & safe cold remedies?? 

I can't take time off of work this week, plus i'm working 6 days and then hosting my cousin's baby shower on Saturday afternoon. Next week i'm hosting a 3-day company event, Mon - Wed. I absolutely must get better by Saturday.

I'm drinking hot water with lemon and honey... but that's about it.  

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    I asked a pharmacist when I thought I was getting a cold from my husband, she suggested eating 3 oranges a day for vitamin c and getting pleanty of sleep. I wanted to slap her. You may want to call your doc on this one, I think you can take robatessin without alcohol. Perhaps a humidifier as well?

    Saline nose spray, Tylenol to take the "edge" off, Vicks vapo rub, hot showers, and salt water gargles.  Oh!  And don't forget to keep moisturizing your nose!  I've been fighting my cold for 3 days now...it's easing up, just slowly.  I hope yours clears up more quickly!

    I'm getting over the worst head cold & earaches ever.  I had to go to the doctor and they put me on amoxicillin and told me to take plain Claritin and saline nose spray.  I felt better within 24 hours.

    They also said I could take Tylenol cold, but I couldn't find it without the other million other treatments options...ie: Cough supp.

    Me- 32, DH- 32- TTC for 4 Years
    IUIs 1-6 BFN
    IVF #1= BFP- M/C
    FET- Beta#1: 69, #2: 482, #3: 1088, #4: 28,318, Ultrasound- 1 beautiful heartbeat
    It's a boy!
