I feel like if I can get DS to nurse for 8 minutes or so, it's an accomplishment. Sometimes it's longer, sometimes it's less. Pedi isn't concerned and neither am I but I really wish he would nurse a little bit longer. How long is your LO going for?
Same here! DD nurses 3-5 minutes on each side, and has for weeks. She is gaining weight appropriately so far, but I just don't know how she can possibly be getting enough. She has picked up a night feeding or two, which must help, but I wish she would just eat more during the day!
I try to get my 6 month old to nurse for 5 minutes on each side. Sometimes it's a struggle and she'll switch sides a few times over the course of about 10 minutes.
My DD is 8 months and is a snacker. She'll nurse for 5-10 min. sometimes less and then in a couple hrs she'll be ready to eat again. I was concerned she wasn't eating enough so at her 6 month doc visit I asked her pediatrician. He said that now that she's older she can go as long as 5 hrs between feedings. Since she still eats more frequently that's why she has shorter nursing seasons.
My guys is just over 6 months and snacks all the time too. I can usually get a long nursing session if I catch him super groggy after a nap or sometimes by nursing him to sleep. Other than that, he'll nurse for a minute or two then be over it. We started doing a bottle mid day and at night so we know he gets two big solid feedings in.
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
Nov. 16, 2015 FET of single adopted 5AA embryo - BFN
During the day when not tired he nurses for around 7-10 minutes a side. At night and early morning or after a particularly long nap it's more like 15 minutes a side.

Wouldn't this cause green poop?
TTC since May 2012;
BFP July 31st, 2012; EDD April 13th, 2013
DD has gotten much faster. She does 15 minutes max, but it's often closer to 10. She's gaining weight and is definitely satisfied though bc she sleeps all night. I think if he's happy, just roll with it.
