Won't Sleep WTF

It's almost 10, and my LO is singing in her crib. I guess it's better than crying. But this is the third night in a row she just fights going to sleep. I know teething is going to affect a lot of her day to day schedules, but between her and DD1 last night, I didn't get to bed until far past midnight.

Anyone have suggestions on how to help her sleep? We only have one car, DH is currently "driving" around, so I can't do that option, which usually is my go to. Any other options?

Re: Won't Sleep WTF

  • If dd isn't crying I ignore it or sit with her belly down on my lap and pat her back while gently bouncing. That gets her tired pretty easily and she some times falls asleep like that.
But dd has been the same way lately. MIL was over and suggested I try a dose of Tylenol since she's mad teething. I was hesitant but thought I'd try. She's doing good so far. Fingers crossed.
    Good luck mama.

  • Do you have an exercise machine? Our elipitical rider has been a Godsend. Usually 5 minutes on it with Dad or the sitter (she's in their arms) and LO zonks out.

Another one that works for us is music ... Sinatra and his buddies, Queen and a number of others work for LO.

  • I second music, dd loves to hear us sing. She has been an awful sleeper for months so I finally bought a sleep book. I needed to so I could save my sanity. We have been doing pu/pd and its been going so well.

Good luck with what you decide to do. Hope you got some sleep!
