Ugh ds's ear issue is back

I posted last week about ds having a swollen ear well the cartilage on the top of his ear was swollen. We went to the doctor, got meds, and all was well. Fast forward to tonight. Yea it's starting up again.

He's tugging, rubbing, flicking his ear. I cleaned the area out and put more bactrum in there then noticed a rid bit of blood coming out of his actual ear. Now I'm wondering if a flipping tube popped out! My poor baby is uncomfortable and just wants me which is fine except I have yet to sleep. I had my weekly drs appointment and a second one with orthopedics to get a steroid shot in my knee. Both were later and my mil couldn't take them right away after I got off of work this morning. so here I am, 30 hours with no sleep, dealing with my son. Dh is really trying to help but ds just screams non stop and runs to our room to get to me. Sigh I needed shoulders to cry on for a bit.

  • Poor you. I hate this conflict with such a passion. I always choose DD. Motherly love prevails!

I'm going through the motions right now. Something is putting pressure on the inside as he won't lay down with me in my bed. So here we are, rocking in the recliner. Blah. I'll sleep in my bed at some point. My main focus is on my little man right now though.

    Thanks for the support ladies.

Ugh, if only you WERE a twin instead of growing them, then your sister could maybe trick him into a cuddle for a bit so you could get a nap in. :You need your sleep, I know he doesn't feel well, but if he has to put up with his dad as his comfort, that's not horrible, no matter what he makes you believe. I think you would be completely reasonable to put your foot down, say you need to get some sleep, and let dh and ds suck it up and cuddle with each other. Ds would probably protest for a bit, but he'd get over it.

Unfortunately ds is stubborn like I am. The one quality I prayed he wouldn't get, he got. Dh resorted to playing a game with him to try and distract him so I could sneak off. I got half way down the hall before he lost it again. We started this insanity at 730 and he's just now settling down since I threw up my white flag. Dh tried but we've got a fifth degree mommas boy on our hands!

  • I'm so sorry you and your son are dealing with this. I can't imagine 30 hrs of no sleep being pregnant.

It's hard to do. I think I blacked out after I finally got ds to lay down. Once that happened the next thing I remember is waking up to ds on our room wanting to snuggle again.

His ear is super red again so back to the doc we go possibly today.
