Hi Ladies! I hope you all have had a good weekend.
Friday night at 10pm, my contractions started to get more noticeably uncomfortable. Still not super painful, though. I called the doctor just before midnight and went in to get checked out.
Essentially, I ended up being only 1cm dilated until 3am when my water broke. Then I went to 7cm in an hour and delivered Eleanor Fiona Evelyn Cote after 4 or 5 pushes at 6:10am on Saturday, June 1st. She weighed 6lbs 12.5oz and is 19.25 inches long.
While I'm glad it went quickly, I will say that having contractions with no end between them was not the most fun. I literally did not have any stop to my contractions so no time to recover in between. All I had for pain was the Stadol (kind of like Nubain, so it really just took the edge off the contractions for about an hour), but I'm really glad that's all I had and that it disappeared from my system before Eleanor was born. She wasn't groggy at all, as a result.
Anyhow, this is the most amazing feeling in the world-- every moment of pain and discomfort has been worth it to meet this incredible little girl. Wayne is totally in love with her and so involved as well-- I've lost him to her, I know!
I'll keep checking in when I have a free hand or two. Happy and healthy remainder of your pregnancies, Ladies!
