My son is 9 months tomorrow and he is showing no interest in crawling. He gets in the "crawling position" while he is sleeping at night, but when he is on his stomach during the day he doesn't want to do it. People keep telling me that he will crawl/walk in his own time, or even just go straight to walking, so I haven't been as worried lately. And as far as standing, he stands very well while holding the couch or our fingers, but he doesn't pull himself up or sit up from a lying position. I am concerned because yesterday we had his 9 month check-up and the pediatrician said
that if he isn't crawling in about a month then she suggests we take
him to a physical therapist. My question is, when did your LO start crawling/moving around? Should I be worried that he is not crawling, moving around or pulling himself up at 9 months old? TIA

Re: Crawling Concern...Please Help!
If it helps my 4 year old crawled at 10 months (walked at 17 months). For the twins, Spencer army crawled at 10.5 months and still army crawls. Sidney just started crawling Sunday at 11.5 months (and she is in 6 month clothes too). Sidney cannot sit up on her own. She can SIT, but she can't get in a sitting position by herself. Spencer can. Mine are preemies, but I don't think of them as delayed.
Oh and you know, don't you, that kids either develop gross motor (crawling, walking) or talk. Sidney has 3 or 4 words (like book and ball), so I don't expect her to walk for a long time!
Some kids never crawl. If he is otherwise healthy, I would not stress about it, to be honest.

And with the delivery trifecra of one twin vaginal, one c-section with general anesthesia for twin B, Spencer and Sidney joined us at 35 weeks exactly on June 18.
DS just started to crawl over the weekend and he is 10.5 months. No one in my family crawled, so I wasn't concerned. Our doctor wasn't concerned at all at his 9 month check-up.
DS figured out how to pull himself up to standing at about 9.5 months and for the past 2 weeks or so, can move across the couch while holding on. Even though he has figured out how to crawl, he doesn't like doing it. If there is something he can pull up on and "walk" across that way, he'd rather do that. Otherwise he sits there and whines until we move him. He only ever crawls if he is truly desperate.
DS1 showed interest in crawling for a long time before he actually started doing it. DS2 did not, he just started crawling one day. I think DS2 always had everything he wanted around him because DS1 always brought him toys so he didn't have to move any earlier than he wanted to.
I wouldn't be too worried that he's not crawling yet, my boys were 9 months when they started crawling but I know some kids who were closer to 10 and 11. Try getting down on the floor with him and putting him on his hands and knees to show him how to do it and see if he can hold himself up like that, or put something just out of reach that he really wants and see if he makes a move for it...
Good Luck!
Crawling is not considered a milestone.
DD- crawled at 11mo, walked at 15mo (she was 8 wks premature)
DS- crawled at 10 months, pulled up 11mo, walked at 14 mo (born on his due date)
DS- army crawled at 9mo, regular crawl at 10mo, pull up 11mo, walk at 13 1/2mo)
DS- crawl 8mo, pull up 9mo...he's 10 mo now
They are all different. I would NOT worry at 8 months at all. My first 3 did learn to get to a sit from laying down before learning to crawl. I think because they were late crawlers. They probably learned to do that a few weeks before they learned to crawl.
