C-sections

anyone had 3+ c sections??

I've had 2 c sections, and am currently pregnant with my 3rd baby which I am planning to deliver by c section as well.  I"m trying to decide if I want to get my tubes ties at the same time as delivery or keep the door open for 1 more baby.  I"m just curious about the 4th surgery and if anyone has experience and how it went?

Re: anyone had 3+ c sections??

  • I've had 4. I had a tubal with my 4th section. All great experiences. My 4th was my easiest and shortest surgery (including the tubal).

    GL to you!

  • This is actually really good to hear. I've had no luck with BC. This current pregnancy was conceived while I had Mirena. My doc is stumped & brought up the possibility of more permanent BC. I'm just not ready for a tubal & DH is starting to let up on the idea of us having another. I've been wondering what other people's experiences have been with 3+ c/s. My doc may be able to tell me how well it looks on paper but the view point of someone who's actually done it is something else.

  • Hi,

I have had 4 c-sections.  Recovery wise they all went great. According to my Dr. I am a great healer (very minimal scar tissue). The same Dr. did all 4 of my c-sections. I haven't done anything permanent for BC because I can't say that I am 100% done. My doctor was not surprised I didn't get my tubes tied.  He agreed that if I was not 100% then I should not do it!

  • I just had my 3rd c section and I my tubes tide on last Friday. I have really tough scar tissue.  My doctor explained that to me after he finished my surgery.  My son was five months when I became pregnant wit my daughter and my daughter was a year old when I found out I was pregnant with my last one.  I have to say that ths is the toughest recovery I've had pain wise but my doctor said that I did not give my body enough time to heal properly.  I believe it all depends on your body. I hope this helps.

Sorry to hijack your post. But I just got a BFP yesterday, on Mirena.  I am sort of freaking out. (I actually opened the thread because I've had three c-sections, and as far as that goes my 3rd was the easiest to recover from).   Did they leave your Mirena in? Take it out?

  • I have had 3 and plan on having another since my Dr said he didn't forsee me having any problems.
  • Am 25 wks with #5 all C-sections...has no problems with #4, actually was the easiest, my doctor even let me go home on the 2nd day.  #5 was a surprise and have no luck BC.
  • I have had four all were really easy no issues at all. We are going next week to discuss safety of one more and I will do my tubes at the same time. If I shouldn't have another csection then it will be time to talk about a more permanent bc...I'm sick of the pill.
