Lalabu Tank Top Baby Carrier

I just saw this new product on one of the fashion blogs I read. It isn't even being sold yet.

The Lalabu - Tank Top Baby Carrier

I'm especially interested in what non-first time mom's think about it. Since it's not available for purchase yet there aren't any product reviews yet. I like the idea but am wondering about the practicality.

Thoughts?

Re: Lalabu Tank Top Baby Carrier

  • If it's not super expensive I would want to try it!

  • I think I am going to pre-order the 2 pack....
  • I have one like this from last time. I think it is called kanga baby tanks. Super cute and flattering and held baby pretty snug. I was able to wear her in it for four months and now just wear the tank because its cute. Highly recommended

  • It looks like something that would be worth a try, and it's one of the cheapest carriers I have seen. I also love the fact that some of the proceeds will to charity.

  • I'm intrigued, but all of the photos of a baby in the Lalabu tank top carrier show the mother's hand supporting the baby's head.  The tank doesn't seem to provide any head or neck support unlike some other carriers.

    Am I missing something?

If you follow the link, there is a video that shows mom walking around and doing simple tasks with hands free of baby.

  • I'd stick to a wrap/baby k'tan. I'd hate to wear that and have the ever-occuring blowout  happen and not have a shirt underneath and be stuck in poo all day.

I wouldn't go anywhere without a diaper bag and it's not hard to stick another shirt in there.

Different strokes, I rarely carry a diaper bag :D A small beQuick with a diaper and wipes, my phone and wallet and I'm good to go :)

So what do you do when the diaper blows out?

I guess maybe a onsie in the beQuick too? It didn't happen that often with my last 2 because I had good cloth diapers, but knowing my luck it would happen in that tank-wrap and I'd be stuck in poo. OP asked for thoughts and that was the only downside I saw :)

15lbs is a reaaally low weight limit though, my kids were out of that by 3 months easy. And its $50 bucks, a sleepy wrap that carries to 35lbs and approx 18 months and is only 38 bucks.

  • I personally would rather just use a wrap. At home w my first we were able to do skin to skin in the wrap and when we went out and about I just put a shirt on underneath and could easily take baby in and out of the wrap as needed not sure how easy that is in this tank.
  • I'd be the idiot flashing everyone as I took LO out.
    Married DH <3 : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat)
DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18

  • I supported the campaign right from the beginning and am getting one! I'm super excited!!
