Zoo question.

We are hitting up the zoo tomorrow and Sophia does well strolling in the stroller while outside so I'm not worried about her acting up. But, I'm curious if I let her walk on her own at some point, will I regret it?

Have you guys let your LO walk at the zoo? If so, how did they do?

I was thinking about letting her walk the last half hour before we leave.

Re: Zoo question.

  • DD did great at the zoo walking around!  We got there close to when it opened and then let her walk the first half.  The last half she sat in the stroller just fine - she was probably ready to sit after that walking!

Hello stranger!!!! I like the idea of tiring her out and the zoo seems like a good place to let her "free". I'm torn though.
  • We go to the zoo all of the time.

I let him out of the stroller to look at the animals and if there's another exhibit that's close he holds my hand and walks with me while I push the empty stroller. There's also a playground in the zoo so he gets out then. And, the children's area is completely fenced in so he's allowed to walk in that.

Have tons of fun tomorrow!! It'll wear her out for sure!!

  • Dd does great. I let her walk in between close exhibits and when we get to each of them.  She loves to stand on the viewing benches so is just make her hop in before we go between sites and don't buckle. Have a great time! Dd effing loves the zoo.

  • You'll probably have to take her out to give her a better view of the animals. We do what others have said - take DS out to see the animals, then let him walk if the next animal is close. Last time, the stroller was empty about half the time, but I was glad we had it when DS was obviously done walking and ready to go home.

  • I use a leash and let him walk as much as he wants. wears him out really well!

  • We have yet to take a "real" zoo trip, but we go to a local farm and let her walk all around the animal enclosures.  She does great!  I do remind her up front to stay with us, hold hands, etc.  As long as we do that from the outset, she does really well and doesn't run off.

Let us know how it goes, hope you have fun!!!

That's what we do :) Let her get good and tired and then let her ride in the stroller!
